Abstract: In the recent years and inspired by the researches in the field of metamaterials, fantastic ideas in controlling waves has been proposed. In cloaking, as a special case of wave guidance, the waves are guided around an obstacle with minimum scattering or reflection. Considering the role of thin plates in the engineering field, cloaking of flexural waves has also achieved a great deal of attention. The multilayer production facilitates the realization of the complex material distribution of cloaks by benefiting from the effective medium theory. However, comprehensive investigations on the performance frequency range of cloaks is still lacking. Although the mathematical cloaking transformation is described only geometrically and is independent of the frequency, the multilayer homogenization and the physics of wave propagation are dependent on frequency. In this work, the frequency dependency of a flexural multilayered cloak is numerically studied using finite element method. The study is performed with regard to wavelength and for different geometrical parameters, including the size of the cloak, size of the obstacle, and thickness of the layers.
