Abstract:
In the presented work, vibroacoustic metamaterials are designed and tested for an application in a vibroacoustic-optimized vehicle door. The focus of this work is the implementation of resonator concepts to different components of a vehicle door. Concepts suitable for large-scale production, which were designed and validated in previous works, are applied to simplified as well as more complex representative components of vehicle doors. The resonators are designed to achieve vibration reduction in the frequency range around 500 Hz, considering geometric complexity and requirements to installation space. The proposed concepts are investigated numerically and tested experimentally on demonstrators. Based on the investigations a favored concept will be chosen to be implemented in a complete vehicle door demonstrator in future work. This will enable comparison of the vibroacoustic metamaterial effectiveness to conventional state-of-the-art solutions.
