Abstract:

Some of the changes and additions to ISO 9613-2 proposed in the course of a planned revision are presented. This applies in particular to the inclusion of the modifications that were already proposed in 2015 as part of quality assurance with the ISO 17534 series in the Technical Report Part 3 and that are used for 6 years via quality-assured software. Some detected shortcomings are eliminated with little modifications of the calculation of the ground and the barrier effect. A method is now proposed how Cmet can be determined for a given direction of propagation on the basis of the locally applicable wind climatology (wind rose). In an informative Annex some recommendations for strategy and parameter selection when calculating the noise levels from wind turbines are provided. The inclusion of long-term average levels, taking into account level reductions due to the reduced emissions at lower wind speeds, also makes it possible to deviate from the otherwise usual worst-case analysis and thus improve the balance with the requirements of climate protection through a more differentiated treatment of noise pollution control.
